Here are some of my helpful DaVinci Resolve tools I couldn't find anywhere, so I made them myself.
Some are useful templates I missed on the edit page, some are more complex tools for specific tasks.
Could be useful for beginners, experienced editors transitioning from other editing software, or everyone in between.

plugins & scripts

Expresso plugin for Fusion in DaVinci Resolve

Expresso

The all-around Fusion tool for bulk node manipulation, applying expressions and generating 2D proximity effects.

It's very helpful for managing large compositions or building Fusion templates and motion graphics with expressions.

This tool was created for personal use with AI coding, over time it got pretty versatile so it might be helpful to others as well. I might be adding other features in the future. Feel free to edit and expand on the script.

Copy/Paste

  • Copy nodes and node trees and paste as many copies as you want at once

  • You can paste them in the already created node trees with automatically connected inputs/outputs

  • This page includes brief instructions for the whole tool

Connect​​

  • Pick set of nodes and connect them to other set in desired input(s)

  • Choose order in which nodes will be connected

  • Chain-connect selected set of nodes

  • Connect them to MultiMerge, Merge3D and other nodes with multiple inputs

Expressions

  • Apply expressions to controls of multiple selected nodes with a click of a button​

  • Easily apply expressions to controls where expression box is not visible (e.g. Font or Polyline)

  • Adjust order of nodes, add variables and stepping to your expression for offset etc.

  • Choose from useful default expressions and edit them however you want

  • Save your expressions as presets

  • Preview expressions before applying

  • Use Find & Replace function for quick adjustments of applied expressions

Proximity FX

  • Generate useful expression based proximity effects​

  • Dynamically changing values of controls according to assigned source point

  • Pick from Value, Position and Angle modes

  • Adjust distance and strength of the effect

  • Works only in studio version (works in free version if you're using DVR 19.0.3 or older)

  • Compatible with MacOS, Windows, Linux

  • After downloading place the .lua script in Resolve/Fusion/Scripts/Comp/ folder
